Focus Areas

While we will not have strands at this year’s conference, there are several focus areas we are hoping to offer to attendees. If you have a topic that fits into any of these focus areas, please be sure to mark it on your submission.

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) presentations. These may include reaching underserved populations, working with adult audiences, or DEI efforts within in your organization.
  • Interpretation presentations. These may include topics of particular interest to park rangers, interpretive guides, etc.
  • Coastal Ecology presentations. These may include topics specifically related to the region of the state where the conference will be held.
  • EE at School presentations. These may include topics aimed at formal educators, including early childhood.

Any and all topics outside of these focus areas are welcomed and encouraged!

Session Format Options

  • You will be able to select either a 45-, 60-, or 75- minute session. Sessions including a significant outdoor component should consider offering a longer session.
  • For those wishing to have access to outdoor space there will be a courtyard, pier, and beach available.
  • Chairs will not be available in outdoor spaces. We cannot guarantee access to power or internet at any outdoor spaces.
  • Session rooms will be equipped with a PC laptop, projector, and a screen.
