Rumbling Bald and Beers September 22, 2018
Soak in the first day of fall exploring new places and meeting new faces during our September gathering.
Join a state park ranger for a guided hike at 2pm in the Rumbling Bald access of Chimney Rock State Park. This loop trail meanders through a beautiful hardwood forest along the south face of Rumbling Bald Mountain, revealing huge boulder fields and the base of the cliff areas. Hear about the how the Party Rock Fire affected the area and how things are regenerating beyond those times. This portion of the evening is free, but please RSVP. Email email@example.com to let us know you’re coming. You can also count this hike for criteria II or III for your EE certification.
Can’t make if for the hike? You can still enjoy the beauty of the gorge by meeting us after, at approximately 4pm, at the Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery located on the Rocky Broad River in Chimney Rock Village. Get your feet wet while networking with other educators from our region and supporting a local business still recovering from the damage of Tropical Storm Alberto. No RSVP necessary for this part of the afternoon. Information on the brewery can be found here: http://www.hickorynutbrewery.com/
