  • 31 Aug 2019
  • 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Kituwah Mound, Clingman's Dome

Beginning at Kituwah Mound, Mother Town of the Cherokee, we will learn the cultural and ecological connection between Kituwah Mound and Clingmans Dome, highest peak in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We will hike a by-pass trail and explore the spruce-fir ecosystem on our way to the observation tower. Hike is 1.5 miles round-trip.

Join members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, Cherokee historians, and EENC Western Section Chair for this unique event.

Meet at Kituwah Mound, Bryson City at 8:00 am!

Wear comfortable hiking shoes. Dress for the weather. Bring your lunch, water, and snacks.
