Do you supervise environmental ed staff and make EE program decisions? Whether you’re a manager, director, supervisor, or any other leadership title, EENC is planning an event just for you!  This meeting is in response to member requests for an opportunity for EE leadership-level staff to discuss topics unique to their positions.

Topics will include: educator recruitment/pay/training (especially considering diversity, equity, and inclusion), creating sustainable careers to keep your staff with you and in EE, and brainstorming how to address diversity, equity, and inclusion from an organizational perspective.  We’ll have a round-table working lunch to dive into more specific interests like climate change and EE, community partnerships, risk management, and quality control/evaluation.

The format will be a facilitated discussion - so come ready to share your experience, successes, challenges, and ideas!

This event is open exclusively to EENC Members and there is no charge to attend.  However, space is limited to 25 attendees so register today to claim your spot.

    Please bring your own lunch.

EENC is teaming up with the Association of Experiential Education's Southeast Region for a field trip to Chimney Rock State Park on Friday, February 28. Chimney Rock State Park and the Hickory Nut Gorge, featured in the 90s film Last of the Mohicans, are two of the most beautiful natural areas in North Carolina. This trip will provide opportunities for learning about the geography, geology, flora, fauna, and ecology of the area while hiking several trails including one to the well-known Hickory Nut Falls. The hikes will utilize the Grasshopper Method popularized by Paul Petzoldt to take advantage of teachable moments as they arise. Come join us for fun adventure!

Transportation will depart from Kanuga Conference Center at 10:00 am and return by 5:00 pm.  If you prefer to meet us there, please indicate that during registration and we'll be in touch with the details.

Lunch will be provided at the Old Rock Cafe.

Qualifies for Criteria II Credit for NC Environmental Education Certificate.
