Grandfather Mountain Gathering

Join EENC and National Association of Interpretation (NAI) for an afternoon at Grandfather Mountain. Start with a brief meet-up and picnic lunch at Woods Walk before hiking the Bridge Trail to Linville Peak (~0.5 miles), enjoying the unique flora and fauna along the way. There, participate in a citizen science hawk watch- hawks should be migrating at this time! Individuals that choose to go to the top for the hawk watch can either go all the way across the bridge to Linville Peak, which is more challenging, or simply hawk watch from Half Moon Overlook, which is easily accessible via vehicle.

Cost:  All EENC and NAI members will have free entrance into the park, and additional participants will have to pay the regular entrance fee.  (prices listed here)
