Join Two Sisters Adventure Company for an exploratory paddle on the Beaver Dam area of Falls Lake. Search for Great Blue Heron and other wading birds. Learn about the human history of Falls Lake and what makes the Beaver Dam area so special. Based on group interest and trip pace we may visit large Beaver Dams on the end of the impoundment, if we don't make it there we will talk about the namesakes of this area.
After lunch a hike will be led by Central Section Chair Phillip Cox.
Field Trip Details:
- Registrants will meet at the Beaverdam Access Site for parking: 14600 Creedmoor Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587 and follow the signs to the boat launch.
- The group will return to this site for lunch.
- The guided hike will follow after lunch, exploring Falls Lake State Recreation Area.
Logistics: This workshop is limited to 20 in-person participants. Canoes will be shared by two people, kayaks will be for individuals.
Please bring a water bottle, a snack, and weather appropriate clothing for being outdoors. A change of clothes and sunscreen are recommended.
This field trip will be eligible for 7 hours of Criteria II/Continuing Ed for the NC EE Certification.

COVID Safety Requirements: This field trip will take place primarily outdoors. Masks are not currently required at this location. We will be following the most up-to-date safety guidelines recommended by the CDC based on Community Levels. As things are constantly changing, you will hear from the facilitator about any specific requirements as the date approaches.
Cancellation:
Registration for this workshop may be canceled up until 7 days before the official start date for a full refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee, by emailing director@eenc.org. No refunds will be offered for cancellations after September 1.
